AN OPEN LETTER TO CHURCH:THE CHURCH WAS SILENCED ACROSS PAKISTAN SINCE 1947

PAKISTAN:(LEAD) Growing persecution in Pakistan and Muslim Extremists intrusion into the Christian faith and Church affairs is posing a serious threat to Church autonomy and our most Consitutional right religious freedom. Priests and Pastors;Roman Catholic;Anglican;Pentecostal;Church of Pakistan and all others are being proscribed, the Enunciation of God's Truth is being halted. In many places and on many occasions we are reported that Pastors are stopped to preach and to teach in open crusades and streets Evangelism to the people.

Faith based differences are Basis of Religious Warfare between Christians and Muslims

1.Bible

The inspired and inerrant word of God in the original manuscripts (2 Tim. 3:16). Christians

Respected word of the prophets but the Bible has been corrupted through the centuries and is only correct in so far as it agrees with the Koran.Muslims

2.Jesus

Second person of the Trinity. He is the word who became flesh (John 1:1, 14). He is both God and man (Col. 2:9).Christians

A very great prophet, second only to Muhammad. Jesus is not the son of God (9:30) and certainly is not divine (5:17, 75)) and he was not crucified (4:157).Muslims

3.Crucifixion

The place where Jesus atoned for the sins of the world. It is only through this sacrifice that anyone can be saved from the wrath of God (1 Pet. 2:24).Christians

Jesus did not die on the cross. Instead, God allowed Judas to look like Jesus and he was crucified instead.Muslims

Why Church is silenced and abandoned itself from Religious obligations?

You can’t preach the Word of God truthfully without preaching with courage.

Church is fearful and fearsome.

There is not a single church or Pastor who is following and obeying the teachings of Jesus Christ and fulfilling GREAT COMMISSION  in Pakistan. Church IS DEAD IN SPIRIT AND VISION.They are under the fear of persecution and have no courage to preach. They have no practically faith in this verse,11“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.John 10-11

Religious liberty for Christians in Pakistan.

In Spite of this ,on every independence day of Pakistan, every Pastor and Church arrange programme and celebrate Independence Day of Pakistan in Churches, showing they are enjoying full freedom and have every right in Pakistan and spending a lot of funds on this Day.There is not a single Muslim Priest who celebrate this Independence Day in any mosque.Once there was time when pastors used loud speakers in Churches and now they are banned  to use loud speakers in Churches but Muslims day and night using as they wish. They preach  their religion in streets and Bazars(Markets) ,at public places where they wish to preach.

What Should the Church Be Doing?

Researchers James Patterson and Peter Kim concluded that Americans in virtually every region of the nation, "simply do not turn to God or religion to help them decide about the seminal or moral issues of the day" (The Day America Told the Truth, p. 199).

At the dawn of the 21st century, does the Church still have a purpose? Can you have a part in it?
Act like a Christian in any circumstance. Follow Jesus' (the Son of God) greatest commandment: Love God completely and everybody even if they treat you wrongly whether you know them or not. Jesus said "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" Jesus says in John 13:15, "I have given you an example, that as I have done, so should you do." In I Corinthians 11:1, Paul says, "Imitate me as I imitate Christ." Ephesians 5:1 says, "Be imitators of God as dear children." Also many Believers are "empty, swept and garnished" (Matthew 12:44).

Would you be part of LEAD to break this silence of Churh?

We are a group of Pastors, lawyers and teachers,we are motivated by Jesus to break this silence. We are working for the persecuted and for the growth of Gospel in Pakistan. We are working without any fear of persecution and spread The Word of God.We have every kind of care for Church according to the demand of 21st centuary. Our work is only for the Glory of Gospel and for the fulfilment of GREAT COMMISSION.

Labor Day in Pakistan and Bonded Labor From Brick kiln Workers

Pakistan:(LEAD) LABOR Day is celebrated all over the world on May 1 including Pakistan to commemorate the social and economic achievements of the labor movement. The day has a historic background of struggle, efforts and achievements of the labor movement that took root in Europe and North America.
Bonded labor: Church,Human Rights and Social workers of World are urged to play their constructive role to make them free from heavy advance debts and slavery.
These are not just cases of bonded and child labor but entire families work in brick kilns, striving to pay off their debts that are so much beyond their means that they will remain unpaid even after decades of continuous work.
They are not able to think to get education for their children even they will be offered to not pay any kind of tuition fee and spend money on books and note books because these workers have to use their little and minors children in the work of brick kiln.
Their socio-economic conditions are inhuman. They have no right of education, health, recreation or security. They get a very small amount to make 1,000 katcha bricks (unbaked bricks). In the preparation of this 1,000 bricks, the entire family, i.e. husband, wife and children are involved."we make 1000 bricks per day my wife and son who is 6 years old,we spend 12 to 14 hours per day and the wage we get Rs.450 (US$ 3.5)",told Imran Masih.
Food  they used: "we do not drink milk and even not our son,and we do not eat fruits because we have no enough money to buy milk and fruits.we hardly eat two times our bread which is very simple i.e bread made from wheat",said Asma wife of brick kiln worker Imran Masih."They have no latrines in brick kilns. They used to open fields as latrines which is not safe specially for girls and women and sometimes, they victimised of rapes",told Asma and her husband.
Advance Debt: Families working in brick kilns are traditionally some of the
most marginalised communities in Pakistan."We are compelled to seek debts
from kiln owners for medical or family expenses, or simply to weather the
monsoon season when brick making comes to a break off, we spend the rest of
the year paying back the loan at excessive interest rates",told Imran Masih
and her wife Asma.
"we in the gathering were afraid to raise our voice at our kiln",said Imran.“Do
you not want to win your right,do you not want to win the rights of your
children?”,Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill asked.

Through vocational training, brick kiln workers hope to escape the cycle of poverty and through adoption of children families should be escaped from Kiln slavery. There are round about 350,000 brick kiln workers working in more than 15,000 brick kilns across the province of Punjab and approximately 200,000 are Christians and round about 50,000 have left Christian faith and accepted Islam as their religion by offering to forgive their debts and for some other vested interest offered by Brick kiln.It is said this is the profession of Christians. We have observed that the lack of education is the biggest weakness the brick kiln workers have.
Physical abuse, including rape of young girls and their abduction, has been reported in many cases. Many times children witness the cruelty which has been suffered by  their parents by the owners, and they grow up in an atmosphere of fear, insecurity and subjugation, which has a profound effect on their physical growth and personality development. Skin diseases, due to contact with clay and dust and sun shine, and exposure to intensive heat, as well as respiratory infections have also been mostly noted among them.Their faces tell their poor physical condition.
Last year,Muqadas Kainat a Christian minor girl from Sahiwal, a city in Punjab, Pakistan, was  murdered after being "gang raped" by a group of five men at "Al-Ghani Bricks Company", situated at Kachi Puki Road Sahiwal. Her father was working as brick maker with his wife and seven children from last 15 years and  living in Brick Kiln vicinity house at 96/9-L, Sahiwal. The Farid Town Police Station registered FIR No.388/12 against culprits. The trial of her case is still pending in Sahiwal trial Court.

A large number Christian brick kiln workers children in Pakistan are being mangled in silence, with their stories never emerge due to pressure or their financial problems even when they are provided free legal aid.
LEAD is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with Children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. As followers of Jesus,we are motivated by God's grace and love to serve all people regardless of race, religion gender or ethnicity.
We ask for support for fiscal needs for the continuity of work which LEAD doing in Pakistan. We are thankful for all who are financially supporting LEAD’s work for the Persecuted Church. We pray for more who have same vision for the Persecuted Church,to be our partners in this noble cause. We ask for partners who wish to escape the brick kiln workers from slavery, bonded labor and poverty.

Another Attack On Pakistani Christians On Trivial Dispute

Multan:(LEAD) One Another Christian community in Pakistan was attacked by a mob on 26th April 2013, it was happened in a village near Khanewal.A similar situation recently was created in Bedami Bagh, Lahore, where Christian families were forced to leave their homes after an angry Muslims mob threatened to burn it down and Christians houses were burned down and property was destroyed in Joseph Colony ,Lahore. The case of Joseph Colony is being contested by Pakistani Christian Lawyers which is still pending in The Terrorist Court of Lahore.

A second attack against Pakistani Christians was undertaken on April 3, 2013, where Christians of Francis Abad, Gujranwala were attacked.Within the period of 48 days, its third goings attack on Pakistani Christians.
According to LEAD sources,it was informed about the an armed uprising situation of Christians in the village Chack No. 31/10-R Essa Pur, District Khanewal. A Christian man Samuel Masih was seriously injured as he was fired at by gun in his neck. A Muslim man Mohammad Yousaf was also died at the spot some other persons  Mohammad Iqbal, and a few Christians were also seriously injured and they were takenk to the District Hospital Katcha Khoo by Police Officials.
Back Ground of The Village:
The village Chack no. 31/10-R Essa Pur was populated with only Christian residents at the time of Pakistan came into being and they were Christians land lords in the village. They are still landlords and working in fields and cultivating the crops in all seasons.A Few Christians left to the cities and some other places after they got education for their work and business. Some of them had sold  out their lands to the Muslims and some Muslims sometimes have also barged in their lands. At the moment there are round about 60 Christian families living among Muslims.
Back Ground of this attack:
LEAD sources informed that there was a dispute among Mohammad Yousaf and Samuel Masih in the morning of April 26, 2013. They both are farmers and have Piece of lands where they cultivate crops. Now it is wheat season and the crop is ready to cut. Samuel Masih wanted to cut his wheat and Mohammad Yousaf wished that his thresher would be used on rent by Samuel too, but Samuel Masih took some other’s thresher. On this trivial issue they both had a severe dispute; someone informed police by call on 15 and the Police Officials from the local Police Station Katcha Kho intervened and advised the both parties for compromise and the matter was resolved for the time being.
Attack on Christians:
On the same day of 26 April,2013 in the  evening about more than 40 armed Muslims attacked on Christians in their village, they suddenly opened fire on Christians and Samuel Masih got bullet in his neck and was seriously injured. When other Christians came to know this attack they also brought out their weapons and started firing in the defense and Mohammad Yousaf got bullet and died at the spot while Mohammad Iqbal was also seriously injured and there were a few other Christians and Muslims who were injured and the injured shifted to the District Hospital Katcha Kho by the local police who arrived on time at the spot.
When Muslims came to know that Mohammad Yousaf had died at the spot they became furious and started firing on the Christians houses and they threatened to burn the houses of Christians same as in  Badami Bagh Lahore. Keeping in view the previous attcks, therefore a number of police and Rangers officials were reached at the spot to save the Christians of the village.DPO Multan and Khanewal police cooperated with Christians and provided them full security, they have seized the village.Police has advised Christians to vacant thier houses for avoiding to happen any unpleasant incident and also advised them to shift women, children and men to the safe place as there are threats from Muslims to burn Christian’s houses.
FIR has been registered against the culprits in the local police station, Kacha Khooh, Khanewal. One another FIR bearing No 127/13 under section 302 PPC is registered against Albert s/o Nathaniel, Samuel s/o Albert, Amir s/o David, and Asif s/o Emmanuel.More than 20 persons has been arrested from both sides.
It is very necessary to mention that on 06 February,1997 the same kind of incident happened in Shanti Nagar where Muslims extremists burnt down around about 850 Christian houses and demolished the whole village including 13 churches of different denominations. The village Chack No. 31/10-R Essa Pur is bordering the Village Shanti Nagar.
LEAD strongly condemns this attack on the Christian village and demands security for all Christians in Pakistan from the state. In many cases personal rivalry turns into religious violence and fear of insecurity in the minds of religious minorities increasing day by day, added Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill,Chief of LEAD.
